LATEST TWIST IN JADHAV CASE, AS PAKISTAN SAYS HIS WIFE CAN MEET HIM
An offer by Pakistan that has surprise India, on Friday Pakistan said they would arrange a meeting between Kulbhushan Jadhav,
the former Indian navy officer held on espionage charges and his wife Avantika Jadhav on
humanitarian grounds.
On April 25 two weeks after Jadhav was sentenced to
death by Pakistani military court, India had sought visas for his parents and wife, Sudhir Jadhav (father) and Avantika Jadhav (Kulbhushan's wife) to visit Pakistan. The meeting in between commander Kulbhushan Jadhav with his wife in Pakistan, will be purely on humanitarian’s grounds.
Kulbhushan's family has also filed an appeal and submitted
a petition to the Federal government of Pakistan under section 131 of the
Pakistan army act 1952. The appeal and petition were handed over by the Indian
high commissioner in Islamabad to Pakistan foreign secretary in Islamabad on 26th April. Pakistan Army said it was close-call to reach on a decision like this on the mercy
petition of Jadhav.
