Three in Race for IOA President, Rajiv Mehta set to be Re Elected as Secretary General




Three Candidates have filed nomination papers for the Post of President while Rajeev Mehta is set to be Re-Elected unopposed as secretary-General in the Olympic Association polls to be held on December 14.After the deadline for filing of nomination ended at 2 pm today, the returning officer S K Mendiratta published the list of the nominated candidates. Batra will get the president’s post ad Khanna will settle for senior vice president’s chair due to withdrawals. Mehta has been confirmed to be re elected unopposed for the same post for the second term as none from the IOA electorate showed interest in challenging him. Incumbent senior vice president Virendra Nanavati and vice presidents R K Anand and Janardhan Singh Gehlot are the other three candidates who have filed nominations for the lone post of senior vice president. The Annual general meeting on December 14 will also see elections for the eight posts of vice president, six posts of joint secretary, a lone treasurer and 10 executive council members.
