The election commission have announced that Himachal Pradesh assembly poll will be held on 9th November in a single phase. Earlier this week, Chief Election Commissioner AK Joti said that Gujarat polls will, “without doubt”, be held in December this year. As it is announced to begin on 9th November and counting will be done on 18th December. He has not announced the date of Gujarat assembly elections but he said they would be held before 18th December as "the voting pattern of one state does not affect the other stat".  As Himanchal Pradesh's ends on 7th January, followed by Gujarat Assembly terms to expire on 22nd January 2018. Ahead of the festive season, there is some good news for the nearly 8,00,000 teachers and staff working in colleges, universities and institutions run by the Center and state governments. The Union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved a pay hike, which will result in 22%-28% in their salaries. The pay revision is based on the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. HTMM Media 9 reported on July 10 that the hike will be in this range.                                                                                                                                      The approved pay scales would be applicable from January 1, 2018. The annual central financial liability on account of this measure would be about Rs 9,800 crore. With the pay revision, an assistant professor’s entry pay can jump up to Rs 10,396 with a grade pay of Rs 6,000 while that of an associate professor's salary will rise by Rs 24,000.                                    “

The first hiked took place on May 10,2017 and this is the second hike for a year. The revised fare is applicable on five lines- yellow, blue, violet, red and green:-- of the metro that crisscrosses the national capital, with the total network length currently standing at around 213 km.The revised fare structure is: up to 2 km -- Rs10, 2 to 5 km -- Rs20, 5 to 12 km -- Rs30, 12 to 21 km -- Rs40, 21 to 32 km -- Rs50 and for journeys beyond 32 km -- Rs60. There is no change in the fares of Airport Express Line (Orange Line).
