CROATIA THRASH GREECE BY 4-1 IN WC QUALIFIERS
Croatia faced Greece in the world cup 2018 qualifying
play-off in Zagreb on 10th November 2017. As Croatia gains 2nd
position in the group table just below Iceland having 20 points in 10 games by
beating Greece 4-1 in full time score. Dominating
the game by having 59% of ball position in which they had 17 shots in which 9
shots were on target as captain Luka Modric and Perisic linked well together
holding midfield, getting support of Atl. Madrid right-back Vrsaljko impressing
in creating chances from his side which created third and fourth goals, committing
less fouls than Greece.
As the score line of the game was opened by the Croatian
captain Luka Modric getting an early penalty, converting it into goal followed by
the second game from
Nikola Kalinic who was unmarked to tap in a second goal but Sokratis
Papastathopoulos fine header gave Greece an away goal. As Ivan Perisic scord
the third before half time and Andrej Kramaric tapped the fourth goal of the
game.
The match
was just the second game under Croatia new manager Zlatko Dalic’s in charge,
winning the first game of his campaign by 2-0 in Ukraine to secure a play-off
spot and closing to reach back-to-back world cup qualifiers.
