Xiaomi becomes 5th largest Smartphone brand in Russia




Chinese Smartphone player Xiaomi has become the 5th largest Smartphone brand in Russia during Q3 2017, According to the latest research from counterpoint’s Market monitor service. Xiaomi grew by 325 percent YOY and was the fastest growing Smartphone brand in Russia both online as well as offline. The online channel Smartphone contribution has Increased from 12 percent to 15 percent YOY in Russia. During this quarter Xiaomi and Apple were among the leading Smartphone brands in online sales. Apple reached record sales during the third quarter, growing 56 per cent YOY due to drop in the prices of its previous generation I phone models, prior to the launch of the new I phones. Samsung led the overall and Smartphone market with market shares of 20 per cent and 29 per cent respectively during Q32017. However, local Smartphone brands like Tele2 and prestige grew by 61 per cent and 54 per cent respectively.

Mitra The Humanoid Robot that Greeted Prime minister Narendra Modi And Ivanka Trump at the inaugurations of the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) Has been developed by a Bangalore based start up Invento Robotics. Made of Fibre-reinforced plastic, The five Foot tall humanoid is capable of face and speech recognition and can interact with human being smartly.
