Facebook is in partnership with T-Hub, to work with 10 VR-focused start-ups




Facebook is looking to understand the Indian market for Virtual Reality (VR) And focus on local content to push its VR Technology product. According to Ashutosh Jhaveri, vice president of business development for Facebook and Oculus, the social media company aims to do this with the accelerator programme it announced last week in partnership with T-Hub where it will work with VR-Focused start-ups. Facebook is betting big on VR and is reportedly aiming to get millions of people across the globe to use its product. VR is also finding increasing applications in India, from films and entertainment to healthcare. The India Innovation Hub will see Facebook work with 10 VR- focused startups.These start-ups will get access to training, mentors, workshop, research and Facebook's VR Innovation lab as part of the six-month programme. Application process for the programme will open in January 2018. Globally, Facebook is betting big on VR technology with “Oculus”. Like many tech companies, It has also unveiled a VR headset called ‘Oculus Go’ for USD 199 That will be available next year. School of Innovation programme, which will be open for Engineering students, will have 10 teams that will work on building a next generation products Idea using VR.
