YET ANOTHER BATTLE AWAITS AS INDIA PLAYS PAKISTAN IN HOCKEY ASIA CUP 2017

After the game is just begun in the field. Everyone is very curious and excited about this battle. India have already made a thumping start to Asia Cup hockey in Bangladesh. Sitting pretty at the top of Group A, India thrashed Japan 5-1 in the opening game before humbling hosts Bangladesh 7-0 in the second game on Friday. On the other hand, Pakistan started with an equally convincing win over Bangladesh (7-0) before being held by Japan (2-2). With two wins, India are comfortably through to the Super 4 stage of the tournament and the Sjoerd Marine-coached side would be hoping to finish the pool stages with an all-win record.
It have always one of the biggest games ever in the history of Indian Hockey. In this highly anticipated clash of the biggies and heavyweights of Asian hockey – or at least historically – could shape up the psychological level of the teams from this group. Against Bangladesh, India earned 13 penalty corners but converted just two which is big concern for Indian team. A month since taking over from Roelant Oltmans, Sjoerd Marine could consider this as his biggest challenge. India plays Pakistan in the third group game for both teams. India leads the table with six points, Pakistan are second with four points. They clash in this mouthwatering contest on Sunday, 15th October 2017.
