ELECTION COMMISSION ANNOUNCED HIMACHAL PRADESH ELECTIONS TO BEGIN ON 9th NOVEMBER.




The election commission have announced that Himachal Pradesh assembly poll will be held on 9th November in a single phase. Earlier this week, Chief Election Commissioner AK Joti said that Gujarat polls will, “without doubt”, be held in December this year. As it is announced to begin on 9th November and counting will be done on 18th December. He has not announced the date of Gujarat assembly elections but he said they would be held before 18th December as "the voting pattern of one state does not affect the other stat". As Himanchal Pradesh's ends on 7th January, followed by Gujarat Assembly terms to expire on 22nd January 2018.
CEC AK. Joti : For the first time Himachal Pradesh will have 136 all women managed booths. We will have VVPATs along with EVMs; Commission has issued instructions to increase the height of the voting compartment to 30 inches. The Congress has 36 seats in the 68-member Himachal Pradesh Assembly, while BJP has 26.
